Wire Mesh Cable Tray Manufacturing Process
Wire Drawing
High-carbon steel wire is drawn through a series of dies to achieve the specific diameter required for the tray (e.g., 4mm, 5mm, 6mm).
Welding
The drawn wires are fed into a specialized welding machine. The longitudinal and transverse wires are resistance-welded together at each intersection to form the mesh grid.
Shearing & Cutting
The large, flat mesh sheets are cut to the specific width and length of the cable tray using a shearing machine or automated cutting press.
Bending & Forming
The cut mesh is bent into the characteristic “U” or “basket” shape of the cable tray using a press brake or a dedicated forming machine. This creates the side rails and bottom of the tray.
Finishing (Galvanizing/Coating)
The formed trays are treated with a corrosion-resistant finish. This can involve electro-galvanization (dipping in a zinc bath), hot-dip galvanization (dipping in molten zinc), or powder coating.
Quality Control
Each finished tray is inspected for weld strength, dimensions, and the quality of the finish. Any trays not meeting standards are rejected or reworked.
